Prerequisite Steps for a Candidate Appraiser:

Complete BUSI 330 Online Course through UBC, Sauder School of Business, Real Estate Division - Cost is approximately $500 (see for details)

Become a candidate member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada (see or call 403.207.7892 for details)

Attend an AIC ethics seminar in Alberta

Equipment Required:

Must have a Windows-based laptop or desktop to run software for appraisal reports and a measuring device such as a laser or 100 foot (30 m) tape.

Approximate Monthly Costs:

The monthly costs to be an appraisal candidate, including MLS access with the Calgary Real Estate Board (CREB), AIC Dues, Errors and Omission Insurance, works out to approximately $375 per month.  Please don't hesitate to call or send an email to to see if this opportunity would work for you.
